Post by mach289 »

the old tire debate
I want to run 35X16 on my 105 cruiser.

I have 33" bfg a/t and have used cooper a/t

This time i was thinking muds. MTR, Cooper or BFG.

Or maybe cooper st.

It will be a daily driver.

Thats why i was thinking maybe st or somthing similar.

can anyone recommend any others

X-terrain... good in the mud and good wear on road.

I'd recommend the MTR's.

But found out the other day they only make them up to 285/ 75r 16.

That's only 33 inch!

Gotta vote x terrain :D Have had em on mine now for a while and quite impressed all round. Comprable to any normal muddie onroad and a good deal better than regular muddies offroad ;)

Plus they look the goods too :D But if you can live with a bit noisier tyre I reckon the radial claws are cool as well

DiscoDino.. arent the Iroks a really soft compound rock crawling tyre? Theyd probably be slicks after 20k on road.

If you mean the Cooper ST, then I have had 3 friends with them and they all say that they get slippery as hell when they get below 50%. Might be worth thinking about.

I got 60k out of my Cooper STT 33 x 12.5s, and they were pretty slippery below 30%. 2 years old.

I am now running MTRs on my GQ and they apprently wear quite quick, but I will see. Has anyone tried the Yokohama G-001?

I was thinking about these but got the second hand MTRs off here instead...
