Post by stu »

thinking of getting a detroit locker for the front of my coiler (same as the jimny) I have a Rocloc in the back but hey the more the merrier.

I have heard some stories about bad backlash, is anyone running with one of these? have you incounted any problems associated with these lockers.

E-Z locker is made by locked drive systems ..
Detroit is a brand of locked drive systems ..

So a E-Z locker is still as detroit .. if you follow ... if you do .. tell me .. I thinkl I have lost myself ... :?

perhaps this will clear it up ..

Hey stu

Dont hold me to this but i think u may find that the jimny 's front diff is different slighty to a coily sierra .otherwise there would be no dramas in fittin a font air from a jimny to a c sierra (they can be fitted but with machinin ,is this wat has to be dunn with the detroit)

I was goin to have a detroit custom made by a place in melbourne i think this bloke will make to suit wateva (this is the same place that is doin them 4 the front of poojeros 2)
All u have to do is send centre down n he will send it back fitted with detroit i think the price was bout 1300 buckeroos ,

y not just weld it 4 the time bein ive got a mate with a coily that had dunn this n seemed to have fuk all dramas with even though he was runnin claws!!

Any way thats my 0.02 c worth !!!@!

i thought about getting the planetary gears welded but i like the idea of the locker unlocking when turning corners - even though i hear it can be quite savage.

i dont think the E-Z locker will have to be modified as it just sits within the hemishere, but the detroit replaces the whole hemisphere and the crownwheel has to be bolted to the detroit, same as the ARB for that matter. The only concern is wheather the front hemi is a 4 pin or at two pin. can't remember at the moment
