Urgent: what to look out for in a 2001 model V6 Triton

Post by tuff80 »

Looking at a v6 Glx dual cab, what are their faults? what are they like on fuel,, we are looking at using it as a everyday car and a tow car for a car trailer,, not a serious off roader, will only see dirt roads and occasional light off road

Its got a few Km,s on it,, but im paying $16500

I had a 98 GLS fuel economy is excellent compared to pajero getting avg 8km per litre compared to 6km per litre 136kw and around 15-16 hundred kilos makes a pretty good tow car mind you heavy trailer loads without brakes tend to push the back end around a little with an unladen ute tray only thing I had a real problem with was synchros, look out for the hard change between first and second and sometimes third and they are difficult to get a size 10 steel cap boot and push the clutch in fully (toe hits the steering column) which compounds the problem
otherwise great car that is certainly not under powered (watch the rear end slide out with the LSD and a little rain on the road)
