is the goverment going to lift the price on lpg??????

Post by v6runner »

found a decent priced lpg setup for my fj40 that has a standard 2f motor, but i have been hearing that the goverment is about to jack up the price of lpg, to the point where there will be no cost savings running lpg. does anyone have any info on this.....
also if i have the motor tuned mainly for gas (petrol for when i run out) will i notice a reasonable diff in running costs....or should i just stop dreaming
n what size drop lpg tank will fit underneath??
thanks

who knows for sure...

It is probably likely. You can tune your 2F for gas but at the end of the day, it is still not gonna be the most fuel efficient animal around. Remember that you gotta lug around 2 tonnes (or something) of chassis and donk, and solar power aint gonna cut it.

Having said that, I would be interested to hear about the sort of mileage 2F 40's get on gas.....

they give it away to japan for 2c/Litre

this rumor has been going around for a while.

cost isnt the only reason for gas, will be better for hill climbs/decents.

plus you get extra range with more litres to burn.

anything has got to be cheaper than 20 odd per 100kms, plus its used as a daily driver......(i like throwing money away!!!)
any idea how big of a drop tank can fit under the 40???
and would also be interested in the mileage that can be acheived of gas.
thanks

PM "Carts" last time i had a chat to him he seemed to know an awful lot about the subject... but I think from memory it doesn't come into effect until 2007

ah ill be an 'A' grade sparky by then. so ill be raking it in.

a mate had a 65L (50L usable) tank under his 40 and a 90L behind his seat. i recon you could get a bigger one under the back maybe. but they hang a bit low.
