yeah, what he said.
good work.
any word on this conversion it sounds pretty hardcore
be perfect for poser dave!!!
bj - is that turbo in the pix shooting your last girlfriend?
Xtreme Bolt on Bandit....and your mum loves it!!!
alright time to spill the beans.
it cost me $150 for the dissy chop gmr in kunda park qld did it.
$50 s/h vl fuel pump
$200 for all the shite air box to o2 sensor. jap auto wreckers kunda park. got the complete un cut loom too - need that.
the throttle body bolted up to my inlet manifold with a little elongation of the holes. the heat spacer - which you need sucks. it is so hard not to break when you modify it.
it needs to be the 3 speed stuff - no crazy auto shit, no smart lock.
the wiring was sticky, hard to solder, time consuming and cost me a small fortune in beers - i enjoyed every one. i got two stuffed shopping bags full of unused wire. i pulled the loom apart and traced every wire. i hate problem solving when things wont run so make no mistakes and trace it all first time. i remade the loom to fit my gq - extended, shortened etc.
i got all the sensors fitted - 3/8 ntp and the o2 is 18mm x?.
i ran hell rough and stopped and started etc first time i was like what. then it struck me that the advance could be too far. skipped the dissy over one tooth and hell farking yeah. purrs like a kitten. revs so fast, idles perfectly. an honest 30 - 40% more torque off the bottom up to 10 - 15% more hp over all. best mod.
i drove it for two days then took my truck to work and started the chassis chop in line with 35's, duel transfer conversion, exo cage inc external roll. sass seats, harnesses, front locker, further suspension mods, a frame, 38.5 on beadlocks. nearly there.
duel case done, chassis done, a frame nearly there.
we will se how the motor goes when i drive it off road.
any questions feel free to ask.
cheers

in order
falcon dizzy grafted on to nissan stem. note position carefully as even slightly out will not allow adjustment of timing.
ford throttle body bolted to inlet manifold - elongated holes only to fit. also gring heat seperator to suit.
coolant temp sens and inlet air temp sens.
o2 sensor - the only different thread to the rest. from memory its 18mm. all the rest are 3/4 npt i think from memory
booty fab style computer brackets.
vl commodore fuel pump located below tank. seemed ok.
coil bolted straight up to the original mounts.
my ute with old motor a while back.
ute a few weeks back with gen 3 partly installed.
cheers bru

Never seen this thread before. Got a couple of questions.
Why was the Coolant Temp Sensor fitted after the Thermostat? Wouldnt that cause it to run Richer for longer after cold start up?
You mounted the O2 sensor in the exhast manifold up close to the exhast ports. Wouldnt it have been better to mount this in the engine pipe as it gives a stable reading to the ECU. Generaly when mounted in a single exhast runner it can cause problems if that single Cylinder runs lean or rich for some reason.
Other than that looks like a great set up. What did you do for an Air Filter?
i took the thermostat out as it was the only suitable location with adequate wall thickness and the thermostat was buggered anyway.
single throttle body should not really run too rich or lean, but i just put it there to see it my project would work - couldn't be bothered welding a nut to the exhaust to find it wouldn't work!
i sold the motor before i fitted an air filter, only ran it to work twice or so with a rag over the throttle body.
