Brissie Northside mechanic to do a Pajero TC Swap?

Post by -Scott- »

I need help! (None of the obvious comments, thanks. )

The Paj is in with my regular friendly mechanic this week to lift the bull bar (after the BL) and swap the transfer case for a reconditioned unit with lower gears. Now that he's had a look, and tried to lift the TC, he's decided he'd rather not attempt it, as gearbox and TC have to come out together and he doesn't have the right equipment (and neither do I, which is why I was going to a mechanic in the first place.)

The local Mitsubishi dealer (who sends their wheel alignments to my mechanic - they get on well) says you can't get the TC out without the gearbox - they've tried and made a mess of things. Another 4WD mechanic has already passed on the job, and I was hoping to have the new TC in for this weekend.

Anybody know a northside mechanic who could do this Wednesday or Thursday this week? The car's booked in to Qld Transport in Caboolture for inspection on Friday, so Friday is out.

Thanks,

Scott

Thanks for the tip. I just spoke to Dave and he's happy to have a go, and his quote is reasonable, but our schedules don't match so he can't do it before the weekend.

Anybody else who's not up to their armpits preparing cars for the long weekend?

Cheers,

Scott
