Hilux AC evaporator

Post by MissDrew »

In a gen 3 hilux (mines 93) does anybody know how far back from the fire wall the ac evaporator sits?

Is it hard against the fire wall?
Or is it like 10mm, 20mm, 30mm etc etc off the fire wall?

Yes I`m talking about the big box under the dash behind the glove box.

Just take out the glovebox and have a look.If you've already let the gas out it only takes 10 minutes to take the evaporator out.
Then take to the firewall with a big sledgehamer then put evaporator back in. Easy ;)

Thanks Ben that would be good.

ATM my lux doesn`t have AC so it only has a filler in the spot where the evap goes.

The reason I ask is I am thinking of cutting the hump in the engine bay out and making it flat to make more room for the V8, but I`m wanting to put AC in it while I am rebuilding it.
