Any F250 Owners?
Just wondering if there's any owners here that own a post 2000 F250. Considering buying one, a 7.3l TD. Then maybe a bit of lift and run some 35's. Any terrible problems with them? Other than trying to park? Any technical info on the drivetrain? Diff types, ratios etc etc???
I'd rather have a sister in a whorehouse than a Toyota in the shed.

you can fit 35" with a 2" lift though and parking would be even more difficult

Our business runs 2 XLT dual cab fourbies with the 7.3l V8 diesel. Stock except for nudge bars, spot lights, UHF radios, canopy etc. No mehanical changes.
Had issues with-
Fuel filter in tank getting clogged due to algae (yes there is one in the tank and using the recommended fluid shit doesn't help) Had to drop the tank twice so far.
Brake switch died which means you cannot get it out of park. They had "never seen it happen before" yet it happened on both of ours. Replacement was the same part so it will happen again I'd say. Actually the second time it happened it died while drivng so we couldn't get it in to park which also meant we couldn't remove the keys. Brake switch is a fancy little unit so it had to be trucked to Ford when it was stuck in park.
Standard Goodyear tyres are dangerous as hell in the wet.
The first 250 has issues with the handbrake so you have to bash it to get the light and buzzer to turn off. Even with repeated trips to service dept.
Parking is okay though so long as you can get the angle. I take them to shopping centres. It just pokes out by about half a metre. But then lots of people don't go all the way into their spots so it isn't all that noticable all the time.
Very big and comfy and can tow anything anywhere. Also can take a tonne in the back without a second thought.
Would be good as a tourer that sees a dirt road or beach (unstoppable on the beach) but as a 'real' 4WD it isn't very good at all due to its width, turning circle and ramp-over angle.
Fuel economy is great on the highway (same as my 4cyl Rodeo) but absolutely woeful around town.
Trim is quite cheap an dodgy feeling too.
Depending on what your after it could be good. However to spend my money on it I would want to live in a rural area, go touring with a big van and be best mates with a Ford dealer service centre. (and carry a spare brake switch).
