Whats been your experiences and would you recommend one??

I have had a genuine rust arrestor one for over 6yrs now and i believe it works quite well, wont stop rust but slows it right down.

Scientifically this system is plausable. A sacrificial zinc anode system that works entirely on the same principal has been used on florida bridges to prevent concrete reinforcement failure in marine environments. If they are willing to spend 100s of millions of dollars doing it to their bridges I assume it has some benefits. I think more the worry would be the quality of the system you can buy.

It's pretty good from what I've seen. Traditional spray on proofing is just as effective in protecting the bottom of the car if well maintained but on larger vehicles the electronic is great because there is a lot up top to protect which spray ons don't really do

On a gq its probably a good investment

Both systems together is the business though, even if you pay for the electronic and do the spray yourself. Don't get a cheapo electronic system though

good for piers and bridges .... just coat the bottom of your car
with spray on and make sure you keep it clean and stop the rust starting to get hold

As I understand the electronic rust inhibiting systems they only "operate" when the vehicle is running - ie probably not as much good if it's not a dailydriver......

every one i have looked up runs 24/7 and if i was to reccomend one I would push you right to E.R.P.S

Father uses them on the tour troopies (go to north straddies almost everyday) and its deffinately worked well.

I have an ERPS on my 60, It works but won't stop existing rust
But it shore has slowed it down.

Ok well that's good to know - because some sales pratt told me that & I decided not to buy it since my Heep spend more time sitting in the garage than anything.....

I am sure you could hot wire it, might run your battery down over a long period of time but then again a $60 charge and maintain unit from repco would fix that

My missus, old man is a supplier or 'Counter Act' rust proofing. Ive helped him install a couple of systems now and they do run 24/7 as they are a direct power feed off the battery.

They deifnatly do slow existing rust right down and do prevent rust in the future for sure!!!

It doesnt actually draw a current does it? Doesnt it just put a positive or negative potential (whichever the cathode is, cant remember) on the car body?

The ERPS draws about .02 milly amps or something, Ive left
my 60 standing for 6 weeks without the battery loosing any charge
they do run 24/7 and yes they do work
I live 200 metres from the sea and rust in my cars is a big probblem
any scratches or unpainted areas of metal you can see the surface rust
building up on itself instead of eating into the metal. wipe of the buildup
seal the scratch with paint and the charge which is sent between the paint
and steel will protect it again
The better the paint on your rig the better it will work.
Thats why they give full protection warranty on new cars because the
paint is in good nick (And there should be no rust to start with)
