SPOA on MK SWB Patrol

Post by Rosey »

G'day guys,

I am very keen to do a SPOA conversion on the truck in the next few weeks and noticed some of you (Kingy, Screwy) have already done this. Not sure if it has been discussed in detail prior, (search function not working for me) however would like more details.

I have read about the front drivers side perch mounting issues. I guess what I really what to know now is;

Do you have to cut your knuckles and relocate them or are wedges suitable? What degree wedges are required to get half decient castor? How is the steering setup affected? ie. Does the steering rod hit the leafs? Are these cross over steering kits necessary? On the rear setup, should the spring perches be welded with any angle on them to help drive shaft angles? Any other clashes anyone come accross, things to think about? What would you do differently if you had to repeat it?

Hope this isn't to may questions. Thanks for your help guys?

cheers
