Replace Injectors & Glowplugs

Post by Le0n »

Decided to replace Injectors & Glowplugs on my LN130 Surf with the 2TLE motor. Went to Toyota for a price.
Injectors at $452.40 each & Glowplugs at $41.35 each
No Inectors in stock in Australia, Glowplugs next day delivery.

Surfed the www and found www.hiflow.com.au

Rang their toll free number 1800 817 006 & arranged for delivery by overnight airbag for 4 new Injectors (not reconditioned) & 4 new Glowplugs for the total price of $399.00 including delivery & all seals , washers etc. :D

Should have them tomorrow. Hope to stop blowing black smoke.

Cheers Leon.

you could get your injectors rebuilt with new high quality nozzles at any diesel shop for about $60 - $70 each, and if your truck starts in the morning it doesn't need new glowplugs. the glowplugs are only for cold starting - if it runs rough and blows white smoke on cold starts then it has one or more bad plugs but there is no need to replace them all.

that is a good price for your injectors etc but what are you getting for your money? I hope they are decent quality or you're going to end up smoking again which would suck!

cheers

Brian, The main reason I'm doing the Glow Plugs other than the fact I'll have removed the induction tubing etc to replace the Injectors at the time is.

I live in Gladstone Qld and my Surf always starts within 1 second of the key turning. Always warm up here. I was also in PNG for 6 years and drove a Hilux and never had to use a time delay start.

I recently visited a cousin on his farm at Hanging Rock near Tamworth. The temp got down to near zero overnight and try as we may the Surf wouldn't start. My cousin Bruce had a can of Start Ya Bastad and it got the motor going. Awfull noises but running.

The guy at Hiflow told me he could do the Injectrors on an exchange basis or new ones at the same price. I decided to go for the new ones. Will still have the old ones if required later. The local diesel mob quoted me about $100 for rebuilding each Injector.

Will let you know how they go but I'm not planning any trips to the cold countrey for a while.

Have to tell you after stuffing around with the Hiflo injectors for months on end I decided to get my origional ones rebuilt with genuine parts.

What a differance. Genuine is better than cheap made in China sxxt.

Also much improved mileage from 13 to 10.7 lp100k's

Good old Tamworth lived there for 24yrs but now i live at Bribie Island...

Went down and saw my folks and bro about 3 weeks ago Fawk it was cold iam climatized to QLD weather now..

Remember the diesel is different down there during the winter months they put more heating oil in the diesel so she dosent freeze....
