brisbane daihatsu owners
Hey everyone I was wondering if all the people on here who drive daihatsu fourbys from brisbane could give us a brief description of themselves and their truck so maybe we can do a run up to double island point or something similar on the July 3 Saturday. I am keen to to meet other daihatsu owners and wheel with them
Or if anyone has any other suggestions on where we could go wheeling give us a pm

have hundreds of mods planned by the year 2020
My name is Murray, I drive a Feroza called Ferwoaza. I live in Jimboomba on the south side of brisbane (out near Beaudesert). It's big, it's blue, it sounds good and I drive it like a ricer
I wouldn't mind doing a nice cruise somewhere, taking it easy on the car at the moment as I can't afford repairs.

So what is hte rough outline for the day......was thinking we could start at Tewantin go up the beach that way then come out through Cooloola NP into Rainbow up to Inskip and back down that way? I don't know that way though I just know that you can't get round the rocks at Rainbow...

You can get around the Mudlow rocks when the tide is going out so I would check the tide times. Or take the NP inland track from Teewah to rainbow, about 20km of 4wding which I would rate as medium with a couple of harder sections.
Undecided about if I'll go yet
cheers

Unless mudlow rocks has changed in the last few weeks then I wouldn't touch it at all.

Mudlo rocks is passable on low tide only. But, may pay to make a call to teh ranger to find out for sure.
Jimmy, the inland track is not medium mate - its easy with some medium parts. Most of the time you don't need low range. There are other tracks that are not as easily found.

my mistake, it's an easy track I'm going soft in my old age. I've gone that way in high range haven't needed low. Heath, are you talking about other tracks in the National Park? I think there should be bit more off-road than a drive along the beach as this won't take long.
As for the rocks, all depends on the time you go around, at low tide you shouldn't have to drive in the wash.

That is all
Sometimes cant be helped. Just give it a good rinse when you get home. Just drivin on teh beach in just as bad as driving in teh water. If its timed right you'll be in worst case and inch of water.

Could go through freshwater track it's a bit of fun. The sand becomes pretty soft especially after no rain for a long time can make things interesting. We managed to get ourselves and my parents bogged there when it was really bad one year. The only thing that did make it through was my brothers rocky even if it was a shitta!!! Hope ours can get through too.

Well when we are up there camping as long as its low tide you can drive from the ferry all the way to town without driving in anything

Came back from Inskip around the rocks on Rainbow last Thursday. What used to be a few rocks near the town is now loads of rocks all along the beach and its definatley low tide only stuff! The cuttings are pretty easy going. Managed to get through in my GU Patrol(the wife's claimed the Feroza) with camper trailer no sweat so a 'Roza will p!ss it. The track in 4WD Monthly(Pettygrews Road?) is a good track with only one sketchy bit. A slightly up hill sandy section which gets cut up over some big roots but i made it up after six attempts in the 'Roza! Has anyone checked the tide times B.T.W. Hope this helps.
