Problems installing Gearmaster Gears into GQ?

Post by Deano »

G'day Guys

The GQ is in the workshop getting my Marks 4x4 Gearmasters Lo Range gears installed at the moment.

Shop just rang and said that it was a little more complicated than they expected as they didnt quite fit and some more machining would be involved :?

Anybody else had this when fitting theirs? The guys doing the install are reputable round here, but Im just concerned that all is not right.

From what I gathered I thought install was a pretty straight forward type deal?

Thoughts?

The transfer case housing definitely nneeds grinding / machining out for the gearmaster gears to fit.
I'm not very good looking, so I guess I better be useful . . .

the selector fork also needs a little notch taken out of it to clear the big gear.
