Holden v8 mounts in FJ40
Does anyone have any pictures of engine mount brackets to put a holden V8 into a FJ40. I know i can get them from Marks Addaptors or Castlemain Rod Shop but at $180 I was going to try & make a set. Any help with this is greatly appreciated THANKS
what are you going to do for the tranny? If it's an auto you will need a transfer adaptor, otherwise you will need a bellhousing adaptor for the yota box.
If you already have either of these then bolt it all together, lower the sucker in and measure where your mounts need to be.
Most of the conversion kits use either the standard engine mounts or the respective V8 ones, so either will do or just adapt anything that is strong enough and readily available.
Also, many kits require you to slice the original mounting brackets of the chassis...but it won't take much to work out once the motor is tentatively in place.

Power steering and front disc brakes?...if not already then do 'em while the motor is out...if you have the time and resources.
Getting rid of the factory steering box will give heaps of clearance for the exhaust on the drivers side, especially if you are going for extractors (tri 'Y' would be best).
