MQ Hubs, CV's, seals, & re-packing w/grease

Post by tbjaus2000 »

I am currently ripping my hubs down. Got axles out last night. Just wondering a few things regarding this.
1) How do you tell if the splines on the axle/cv, cv/hub are worn?
2) When i re-pack my swivels with grease, how much grease do i put in, in a) the swivel, & b) the hub.
3) Has anyone had the allen key bolts that fix the AVM hubs on seize and just let the allen key turn and fuck the bolts? Had to hammer a star screwdriver in to get each one off, man they were tight as nuns nasty.
4) I am thinking i may need a drivers side CV joint. Its in a G60 so i only need the birfield joint part i think... So if anyone has a spare lying around, please let me know.
5) Seeing as i have all this out, what seals/bearings should i replace as a matter of course...?

Any help would be greatly appriciated. After all its good to hear the consumers opinions....

Good on you for having a go, but really if you dont know what you'r doing, you really should have a book. They are cheap and tell you everything.
