Help Please Daihatsu Diffs

Post by Dangerous Dave »

Ok,

I need help. I need replies to be accurate.

Question 1:Are the rear diffs in Feroza's the same width as the rear Rocky ones?

Question 2: Are the front and rear diffs in rockys the same width as each other?

Question 3: Does anyone have a rocky manual on the net as Murcod has a feroza one?

Question 4: Does anyone have a rough going price for Rocky motor, gearbox, transfercase, driveshafts and diffs?

Thanks
Cheers

Question 1, dont know

Question 2, the manual lists the track at the front as 1320mm, while the track at the rear is listed as 1300mm. The wheels are identical, so therefore, the front diff must be 20mm wider flange to flange than the rear diff.

Question 3, Not on the net, but a printed one is in my possession, and no, its not for sale.

Question 4, 2 years ago I paid $3000 for a good used turbocharged DL52 motor. A gearbox will set you back about $1200, as will a transfer case. Tailshafts are about $150-200 each, and diffs complete, god only knows, but probably around the $500 each.

I assume you are looking at transferring running gear from a Rocky to a Feroza. If this is the case, then look round for a complete Rocky that is still on the road. Chances are, you will pick up a complete one for around the $3000-$4000 mark. Then you have everything to complete the task.

$3000 - $4000 for a complete rocky?!!

Is this a turbo diesel one as this is what i'm really after. Although i do think that buying the complete car is the way to go.

Dave, there's a 4WD wrecker down Lonsdale way that has a few Feroza parts- possibly they may have some Rocky's too? Can't remember their name though??
