Hilux options

Post by lil86 »

hey guys just looking for some advice.
my truck is an 86 desiel single cab, 2 inch body lift, lifted springs of unknown orign, air locker in front, 33 inch bfg muds, roll bars and chopped tray. im looking to go big but qld laws are giving me the shits. one option is i can get some second hand ome 60 mm springs for $500 and move the front diff foreward to clear 35's but im not sure they will flex like i want and its very illegal in qld. i've been told about a loop hole in qld transport about re-bodied vehicles where u can specify your own tyre sizes, engine type and lifed height all registration legal, so i was thinking my single cab on a bundera chassis, then i get 4 coils and shorter wheel base. has anyone done this swap? any comments would be great.

You may run into ADR compliace issues as your building a "new" vehicle.

first thing to do is to put the air locker in the rear and then drop your rear shackle and your front purches then to clear 35`s get xover steer and bring it forward and get your wheels wider by offset rims or spacer kits

and a 84 extra cab

so im better to tweak my leaf setup rather than stuffing around with coils? how well will ome springs flex with long travel shocks? or i've read about putting hilux rears on the front and useing different rears alltogether? any more information about that would be great. oh yeh already working on another locker for the rear.
