I removed the tape plaer from the my GQ patrol and installed me cd player from my old car,
There was a switch in the dash that connected to a relay that didnt seem to do anything.. so i removed it, and now my dash or parkers dont light up..must be on the same circuit those two ?
i have tried everything to find the fault but cant locate it..i can get the light on by opening the steering wheel component and getting into the light switch lever and arching that turns the light on....so could it possible be my light switch assembly on the steering wheel itself ???? any iadeas will be greatly appreciated

hard to say without looking at the wiring schematic, they would be on the same circuit tho, cant you just put he relay back to how it was??
Does everything else work?
Have you checked all the fuses?
At a guess i'd say when u turn on the switch for the parkers, power flows to the parkers and to the dash lights - and maybe the tail lights from the combination switch,
If you can get it all to work by bridging the switch, then that means the wiring to the parkers is ok, could be the switch or further upstream, double check the wiring on the switch and test the switches parker circuit for continuity, this will tell you if the parker contact in the switch works.
Hard to say without the wiring diagram in front of me, I'd be getting hold of one and breaking out the multimeter.

There are no stupid questions, but there are a LOT of inquisitive idiots
Just make sure you run a fuse, inline with the + wire fairly close to the batt, no need to fuse the neg if it is wired to ground, fuse probably on the radio loom..
You'll probably need to run a wire from the acc as well as battery, so it doesn't have to be reset every time the key gets turned on.
Good luck

Check that the ground wire connected to the CD player is actual ground and not dash illumination. This will seem like a ground with the headlamps turned off. If in doubt connect the ground wire for the CD to the body...
09 Cruiser Tray ARB Bull Bar/side bars, dual batts, 3" Superiour lift, MTZs, other stuff. More to come!!!
90 Sierra Soft top, 3" body 2" spring lift, 31" Claws, 5.14 Calmini, more to do.
