What is the skiny on the factory rear locker, 9 inch.

Post by DougH »

Hey,

Does any one know a little more about the factory locker that was offered in the early genII models with the 3.0.

I am trying to figure out if every rear locker was paired with 4.88 gears.

If some of them came in the standard 4.62 ratio my guess is that they were the automatic rigs.

Also does the automatic with the locker have the smaller front diff, or the same as the standard?

I am just trying to plan around some current purchase and upgrades.

Thanks,
DougH

Yeah I'm pretty sure we got both 4.88 & 4.625 with the factory locker.
All the early ones would be 4.88 in both auto & 5sp the later ones would be 4.625 in both auto & 5sp. This is in the Oz market though.
I still think the auto will have the smaller front diff even if it had the rear locker but without detailed checking who knows eh.................
