Well I broke that silly rubber rag joint/yoke that sits on the steering shaft just before the steering box again on my MQ. I figure I'm not the only one with a 2" BL on the MQ that's having the same problems, so I wonder if anyone can suggest a more secure replacement? I thought about getting the same thing again and bending it so it fits a bit tighter. Dunno though, it really seems like a poor design. I guess it is nice to have a simple failure point in the system, but not if it is going to break all the time.
Any suggestions?

I broke mine not long ago, also know of a MQ that had it go also. We both got replacements from Halls4x4 wreckers in Bayswater Vic. But have heard a rumour that there will be a uni-joint replacement available soon. To suit both std and Bodylifts.
As for replacement, I paid $10. My theory is the old one is 440 000km old and has P/S fluid poured over it for the last 2yrs. So I expect this one to last awhile.

Interesting! So there's no great reason for the rubber in the first place. If a direct drive uni can be slotted in instead, then perhaps I could just tighten up the rubber joint so there's no movement?

Damn, that ain't bad! I paid considerably more for my first replacement, and the rubber was already pretty poor. This time I think I've found one for $22.
I might go with that and just make sure I set it up nice and secure. The problem of course, is when the pins force their way out of the slots - the rubber then has little chance of holding. So if I can just make sure that the pins are securely in the slots, I might be able to get away with it.
Im pretty sure you can get the uni off an 80 series landcruiser and it will slot in place of the rag joint, will double check 2morrow.

From what i mate said, he took out the Rag joint, and slipped this one in, he put it in before he got power steer, and he has it now with power steer, it cant hurt to try, he also has a 3" body lift........
