ony,
I should have explained it better but didnt have time. When the new plenum and intake runners were built (7.3L plenum, 2" diameter runners approx. 10" long each), we did not use the bell mouths from the start, purely because i didnt believe they would or could make any difference. The plenum/runners and 65mm throttle body after a minor re-tune made 34rwhp..........
Now after much thought and "discussion" over a few grogs, 2 weeks after the new manifold was built and had been tuned, we cut the top of the plenum off and went about welding in the bellmouths (so that the bellmouth itself was sitting about 15mm off the bottom of the plenum floor). Back on the dyno, and without touching anything in the ecu or dyno settings, made that extra 20 odd hp, which was an average of 10 power runs.......we then went about re-dialing in the cam gears to give it more mid range, but the side effect of this was the loss of 9hp in the top end, but thats a different story

Air speed is at its highest right at the very tip of the underside edge of the bellmouth. As the air gets sucked (or forced) up around the bellmouth, it causes the swirl effect.

Is this fact or conjecture? Swirl before cylinders sounds total sus to me, being a doughting bastard.

4wd monthly magazine have done dyno tests on them in a past puplication, and as i had a hunch they were rippin people of i read it, and their was nothin to gain with 1, then they added another further up the air intake and it still gave bugga all, so no don't waste ya money ,its a scam and a half !!! blowers, hair dryers and cubes is the salution
They are a load of shit - my Dad put 2 of them in his 60 series cruiser wagon and it drove worse, sucked more fuel and made the car completely gutless. Took them out and car came good again (They were correct ones for that model car too).
Talked to quite a few other people and all have had either bad results or no results at all from putting them in.
