MQ GQ Questions

Post by Patroler »

Hi guys,
Just blew up the transfer case in my ute, (mq 4spd and t130), obviously the simplest option is just to replace the lot, but since ive got it out i got to wondering......

I take it that a gq gbox and transfer would fit if i got the bellhousing for the chev? Is the gq box and t/c a lot stronger?

How much wider is a gq rear diff than an mq one?

Are Gu diffs wider than Gq ones?

Will the centre out of my mq diff (h233 4.6:1 and arb locker) go into a gq h233 housing, and if so will the gq axles fit my centre?

If the rear diff isn't too much wider could i run offset wheels on the front to compensate (i'm running 0 at the moment and want to go more offset as at lock the tyres rub on the leaves as it is)

Any help much appreciated
Mick
