How hard is to convert a GQ wagon to a ute by simply fitting a ute cab to the wagon chassis? Will it bolt on? Is a cab from coiler ute the same as one from a leaf sprung ute? How much is a decent cab worth?
Or is it cheaper to cut and modify the wagon body?
Lots of questions I know......

Thanks Dan.
Guys just call me on 0411 963 424 as I can't be bothered typing it out and I can give you a better description of what I mean over the phone.
You would be seriously supprised how easy it is using either a coil or leaf cab. One or two very simply tricks to a leaf cab on coil chassis.
Cheers guys

Has anyone tried to build a LWB styleside GQ?
Is it possible to move the rear upper section around the doors forward to make a ute? Keep everything else below the window line as the ute body.
I'm looking to get back into offroad racing (as in cross country rally type) and a GQ is my first choice.

I think Sandy Bowman's (Aust 4wd specialists - http://www.aus4wd.com.au/ ) orange LWB ute is a styleside type LWB that you are thinking of, and another one in the outback challenge - a dark blue Maverick - might be the Scanlon brothers from memory.
So yes i think it has been done before
