Just an idea... if you have all the end fittings, couldn't you make your own cable. My local hardware (Home) hires out swaging tools for a small fee, just pick the size cable you need and go for it. Unless that is not legal, in which case there would be some super special process that the cable place would use.

im up in brisbane... what home store do you hire them from. i have the old cable that is farked.. and a new one that is slightly wrong. i looked at doing that otday, but looked too hard as i dont have the swaging tools...
having said that, the ends are already swaged. have you done this before?

Yeah swaged cables heaps of times- but not handbrake ones. Dead easy, getting length right is only slightly technical part. All the parts you need are on the hardware shelf.

I'm in Murwillumbah, so not very handy- I'd say a few places up there would do same.

ok, update for anyonme thats interested. im going to mod one from a standard cable using the existing fittings. im going to make my own barrel fitting, drill a hole thru and csk one end... push cable thru and with my oxy melt some lead into it to join the cable. i used to do this in the UK with motorbike cables.

happy to supply details or pics if anyone is interested.
