Thinking of changing coils

Post by rocknferoza »

I was given a set of standard holden commy coils today from my mate impose from the board :D
I'm now thinking about possibly getting them fitted but I might need 2 get the top and bottom brackets modified so they will fit. The coils currently in the feroza are under 6 inches wide and the commadore coils are over 6 inches wide.
Would it be worth it or should I just get some coils made up thats the same width as the current ones :?:
I should get more lift and easily more wheel travel than with the current springs.

You'll probably want to compare prices. You can go to a place like Thomas Marsh springs and see how much they will charge you for a set or you can make new retaining clips for the wider springs, depends on how much wider they are in comparison to what you have at the moment. It will probably be cheaper to make new retainers for the coils though.

I've added a pic which shows the top and bottom mounts.
The commy coils are actualy 2 wide by possibly 1/2 inch.
If I got new mounts made up would I need 2 get the conversion re engineered :?:

Thanx

Coils are cheap, instead of stuffing around with new spring plate's etc, just get some new coils that actually fit and are the correct "weight" for your vehicle.
