Possible Broken Front Axle - Hard to change ???

Post by Meldge »

Hi guys,

Out 4Wheelin' at Ormeau on the weekend and i heard a couple of big clunky type noises, (as if a big piece of shale hit the chassis) and then the wheel locked up (on and off) until i disengaged 4WD.

Had no issues driving home which was lucky, lock up on one wheel on freeway would have been fun.

Anyways, what is it like to change Hard, Easy, Cheap or Expensive.
Never had to do one before.

By the way it is an 86 model MW FRP Top Cruiser.

Thanks,

Meldge

Its easy as. If I can do it anyone can. If your only doing the cv not much can go wrong. There is a thread in the FAQ part of the General 4x4 Tech forum on how to do it.
