as u see by the name i have a 84 swb patrol and the 4 speed gets a bit annoying on the highway.. i have asked a couple of people about a 5 speed thet will fit but no one wants to help me :x Any ideas??

Yeah, they came out with 4 and 5 speeds, so it is available, 5 speeds are a bit dearer tho. All the 5 speed is, is actually a 4 speed with an extension housing between the box and the transfer case, the housing contains 5th and reverse, 5 speeds also have lower 1st gears. Overall they're about 135mm longer than the 4spd and transfer, so you will need different tailshafts.
Pretty sure v8patrol has put a 5spd where a 4spd was. I haven't personally, but have vehicles with both boxes, and pulled them out previously.

Ok thanks guys thats the main thing i was wanting to know if they existed as the fella that told me they didnt and nothing would fit works in a rather large 4x4 wreckign firm on the nth side of bris (not naming names :finger: )

Also, not sure if it worries you or not but the 5spd from a non turbo diesel has lower 1st and reverse gears than the turbo diesel box, may be worth considering?

Nope,
its sittin in the back of the screwy creation, and i have a daily roader now.
Motor and box comes out monday and 5 speed will be sitten in there by monday.
Picking up an engine crane tomorrow :D
