Its a bit expensive, a turbo deisel deluxe wagon with low k's may be worth that but that one hasnt eve got the wide wheel option. Keep looking, you should be able to get a petrol GQ for that or a little more & it will more than likely have gas. PM Wendle, he didn't pay much for his GQ & its on gas.
Don't ask me, ask them. I'm just runnin for my life myself.

Mines gor 340,000 with no probs. the only thing I have replaces is an axle seal aprt from brakes and serviceing. I am overdue for an injector service though. Wendles is petrol with over 300,000 & he is happy with it. Like I said pm him & he will tell you.

It's not an MK, it's an MQ, and it's worth about two grand, even with the "4 wheel steer".

where can these GQ shorty's for 6 to 8 grand be found? and do they have reg and roadworthy? what sort of condition are they in? people keep saying that gq shorty's can be picked up this cheap, but i can't for the life of me find where, i have found the pricing to be about 9500 and up for something that I believe to be in resonable condition in melbourne
Rum injected

TD42T shorty... got some bolt on and some custom stuff.

Read about it here!

i guess cause of the k's and full service history it could be worth a bit more, i doubt you'd find another one like it

what are others of similar age/condition/kms going for?

not a chance. in my opinion. I sold my MK with Twin lockers, T/D wagon blah blah blah for $8500., and it was a Y Pack 5 speed. Yep if u r spending that much look at a GQ

I second that go a GQ - at the end of the day its a MK and its 22 years old and lets be realistic doesn't matter what's been done to it or how little km's its done the RED BOOK says its got nothing and only worth its weight at SIMS Metal Recycling.....Wake up.

Great add, it says it comes with wheel flares then go and have alook at the pic. No flares there. As for IRS, I think he has IBFH (independant brain from head).

I paid 7K for my 89 GQ 4 months ago. It had 220,000 on it. Very neat and tidy, and hasn't missed a beat. Its an auto, and had a cooler fitted to it since 150kms. Only been used for towing.

There are good buys out there, you just gotta be patient.
