Thinking of getting a Mongose M80S, anyone had any experience with them? What do they cost installed?

mongose alarm..

There was thread on here a while back about different alarms etc.
Look for something that has all black wiring (and wires of the same guage); at least two point immobilisation using inbuilt relays; auto arming for the immobiliser; battery backup siren; interior motion sensing using a microwave detector is good; plus whatever else you'd like in "user friendly" features. Above all make sure it complies with the Australian Standards.
Generally Aussie made alarms seem to be the best for security features and value for money. Ones made in the USA (eg. Viper) generally seem to have very lame immobilisation that is easily bypassed (at least from what I've seen), but suck a lot of people in with all their "bling" features. I haven't looked at any of the newer Mongoose alarms, so can't comment on them.
Have a look at this site for some good systems: www.dynamco.com.au
