injection

Post by lay80n »

Who here has injection fitted to there 1.3l zook motor (origional carby motor). I am over the carby and looking to inject the bugger. Not realy interested in motor swap at moment due to money and insurance prob (daily driver owned by young guy). Any suggestions or info on what people are running. Would be doing most of the work myself (keep cost down).
Cheers

efi

Post by toysuzi »

hello lay80n

if your wanting to keep your head 8valve s.o.h.c

you can use the centre point injection (cpi) from the early vitaras

you can also use the head & multi point injection (mpi)
from
jimny g1.3bb s.o.h.c m.p.i
x90 / vitara g1.6b 16valve m.p.i

or the swift gti head
you will need to run a angle dizzy drive from suzisport $350.00 so it maybe the $$$$$$ option to go

quick fit motorsport in hornsby can modify your efi harness
they send it back with only about 6-7wire to connect
its probarbly the cheapest way to go
$450.00 for tha harness mod

I have converted my 1.3 to injection using the center point manifold form the vitara.I'm also running a microtech injection computer,But you don't need to go that far if you van get the standard vitara computer and hook it up.
Trust me you will not regret this conversion.. ;) ;)

I run vitara G16A center point injection on my 1.3 motor and it loves it! Made a huge diffrence to fuel economy and driveabilty(motor dose not flood on hills or after a rollover anymore) 630km highway fuel economy with 5:12 diff gears and 30 inch tires, havent looked back!

What was the damage to the wallet for your conversion Jamie (or what do ya rekon it would be worth for parts only). I deffinatley keen for this, would be nice to drive a big angle without hte engine playing up.
Cheers

I had a price over here for $450 not fitted. that included the manifold/cpu/throttle body/wiring/air cleaner extension bits.

Is about right for price or is it way expensive because it is over here (W.A.).

PS. I believe the jimny MPI goes onto the gti block and not the G13BA block. (This maybe not true)

cheers

I paid about that for my kit, however i installed mine into my car myself(its a 86 SWB) and it took about 2 weekends to fit as i had to strip all the efi related stuff out of the main loom and join into mine but, i think if you have a later model (88.5 up) you can just swap the whole loom in that the wrecker gives you, but i cant confirm that perhaps some one else can. I also have some wiring diagrams for a US spec 1.6 centre point injection system that helped me heaps when i did mine.
