I have recently bought a thomas PTO winch and after fitting to my hj47 troopy have discovered that i need a bearing holder and bearing for the shaft. it is located under the front, on the passenger side chassie rail. i cant seem to find any info on where to get one from... anybody know where i can get one?
thanks

you will need to make a bracket to secure the bearing to the chassis. Buy a self aligning bearing and pillow block to suite the shaft size - most likely 20mm. The self aligning bearing fits in the pillow block (bearing mount) which then fits into the bracket that you fasten to the chassis. Here is a pic showing a pillow block. If you like i can try to get some pics of the chassis bracket i have on mine. Your local bearing supplier can fix you up with the bearing and pillow block

Thanks Tojo, this is EXACTLY what i need. you could put some pics of your bearing mount to give me a bit of a pointer, but i think i could handle the job. it cant be too hard to make a bracket up. youve been a REAL help, thanks again.
