damn hilux drag link

Post by lil86 »

hey i just fitted 2 inch lifted ome springs to my single cab and guess wat? the drag link doesnt clear the rear u bolt at full drop (still with short shocks) and its already a flat one. no one can tell me why this is happening with such a mild lift, any one know if there is any adjustment in the standard draglink or i have to go to a dropped draglink? im not too keen to do this as im planning for X-over in the future and a draglink will be a waste of money. Also sorting out shocks for the beast im planning to use 2 inch over GQ shocks in the rear mounted with snake racing's invert kit. these measure 710 mm extended and 430 mm compressed so they're plenty long, but up front im not sure wat to use as i dont think its high enough for shock hoops.

any ideas would be great as i can go playing til its all sorted

It might be time to think about going crossover sooner rather than later. A new j arm from Toyota will set you back near on $400, a second hand one is about $100-$125. They don't have to be bent much to cause problems so it could be hard to pick a good pre loved one. I wouldn't recommend bending it back into shape, once something like that bends it is generally weaker and it is controlling your steering.

is it worth going x over steering with only a 2 inch lift? also the money isnt there at the moment. in the future can i get away with running rears in the front with a dropped draglink, or will i keep bending j arms
