Leaf packs on a pre 1980 40 series

Post by MrForty »

Just wondering is it possible to make the spring eye bigger to fit new shackels. Most shackels made today are made for 40 series post 1980. Is it possible to buy 4 new leaf packs with the larger spring eyes to suit a pre 1980 40.

Thanks

i Have had the holes in bushes made larger to suit the later model pin

If you go to a spring works they can make the eye to suit your requirements.
I have heard that you may have troubles with the rear hanger on the front if you make the eye in that end larger.
Im here for the sausage!

Mate, those climax ones with the pin that fold out and tilt are heaps expensive.
i looekd right into it, and its really dear.

you have to extend ya brake lines, pull ya springs out to fit them, and heaps of added stuff.

it ended up the cost was a grand for the back alone.
dont let old mate tino rort ya ask all the Qs first..

(i didnt say that about him did i)???
