If u r going up a hill U can hald ur foot at half throttle and when it gets to a certain point (anywhere above 3 grand and it varys!) it will just take off like a rocket!!

Power Problems

low power 4.5litre
when did it start playing up ???
is the check engine light on in the gauge cluster
(its an orange picture of your engine)
is the idle speed rough or eratic
is the engine smooth under 3000 rpm (missing)
has this happend after a service or have you changed any parts yourself
if so check over your work 1st
you may have left the air flow meter harness disconnecterd
check your ignition timing 3 dbtdc with check connector short circuited
join split pin (service wire) between e1 & t
it should be locaterd near you fuse box
check air filter condition & blow into fuel filter make sure its not restricted (blocked)
if all that checks out ok
check ht lead resistance (ohms) max 6000 ohms per foot of wire
if there ok replace/check spark plugs
thats about all you can do urself other than that take it to a local toyota.ultra tune.auto service or good mechanic work shop in your local area
you maybe causing damige as you drive so do it a.s.a.p

Its been doing it for a few months now.
Got new leads plugs cap and a k&n filter.
It won't run with the airflow metre disconnected.
Sometimes below 3 g it fells like it isn't getting full spark, its not actually missing on any one cylinder just feels like they r not getting full spark.
Could it b the coil??

You have to be careful about saying things like it feels...these motors are that complicated, there are probably 30 different things it could be.
I would check the fuel pump pressure first, these buggers run at a lower voltage till the flow meter tells the computer, which tells a relay to switch over and give full volts. This may happen at 3000 rpm...the toyota manual says to put a pressure gauge on the fuel line and run the motor to check pump. Then it says to take off VSV valve vacuum line to check it....like i said its complicated.
