ARB Suspension advice
Sent an email to ARB Gold Coast to ask about the maximum hieght spring lift I could get using OME springs and LTR shocks, to which I got the following reply "THE LEGAL HIGHT YOU CAN LIFT IS 50MM TOTAL WITH OME SUSPENSION YOU MAY GET A BIT MORE LIFT DEPENDING ON IF YOUR NISSAN HAS SAGGED OVER TIME" Is this true, is every truck in QLD with over 50mm of lift illegal in QLD or are these guys pulling my leg.
do a search on here as there have been many topics about the legality of modifications, Also contact Qld roads or dept of Transport (whoever handles that ) and ask them. But yes it does appear they are telling you the truth. You can get other heights done but will need an engineers report I believe
Ransom note = demand + collage
Actually.. the RULE is....
THe suspension may be raised no more than one third of the bump stop i think...
works out to be 2.7 or so inches
But for everyone else... its only illegal when you get caught...
some people just drive around with big lifts.. get caught.. they get asked to go to mainroads for checkup to see if its illegal if you dispute it i believe... - then go home.. change to standard,, go there pay a fee and get approved... then put your big lift back on

The law in QLD now states that you can only have a 2"body lift and a 2"suspension lift. Most people have more as they had these modification before this law came into effect. As Bazzle said if you get a heavy rated loading springs/shocks you will actually sit higher than the 2" mark but that itself is not illegal. I have just spent some time trying to get the most lift out of mine!
