sterring boxes
instead of using a hilux ifs box mounted right foward for cross over sterring , can you use a 60 series box because the arm faces forward not backwards and mount it alittle bit back????
I have just been through this. Because the 60 series box has to sit further back on chassis than IFS box to give the pitman arm clearance, you will probably find that
1) the angle of steering shaft will be quite steep
2) you will need to install remote oil filter kit on diesels, dunno about other engines, as the box fouls with this
3) need to modify shock hoops
4) need to cut into guard to allow clearance, b/l would reduce this.
But if you can do it there would be lots more options for your setting up your steering.
