General Update

Post by Kell »

Well the car is going in for a MAJOR overhaul on Friday :D and I can't wait to fork out the money. Its having:-

* General Service
* All major oils changed (diff, transmission etc)
* Wheel bearings in front tyres replaced
* New brake pads in front
* K & N Air Filter
* Steering Idler bushes replaced
* Fuel guage fixed

and a few other little things like squeeling belts and a few little rattles fixed.

Will let you all know how much it costs, I am budgeting for around the $900 mark....I'm willing to take bets :D Will be good to get it all done, at least then I know exactly when it was done and whats been done - only downfall of buying a second hand car I guess.

Also getting new cooper ST's next month so REALLY looking forward to that!

and add about $200 additional labour just because they can.

If it makes you feel any better a Ryco paper one is around $65- at least the K&N can be reused.

I GOT MY CAR BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I sure did miss it.

Got the bill and wasn't as bad as I thought:-

They repacked the front wheel bearings, adjusted the brakes, belts, fitted a second hand rear spring, changed all oils in diffs, gearbox, transfer case, engine oil, new filter, greased all joints and fitted second hand idler arm...

Oils - $69.73
Idler Arm - $75.00
Springs - $120.00
Grease - $7.70
Labour - $297.00
GST - $51.77

damage: $569.45

Dave - haven't got the finer filter yet, they are ordering it in and I should have it sometime next week.

They are also ordering in the new engine mounts which should be here next week also

Yeah its gonna be hard when one day I have to trade her...but don't think I EVER will :D I'm really happy and after spending a weekend in a Suzuki Swift 1.6 litre thing I realise how much I miss having some thing higher and spacious...although mums car does have MUCH more speed but oh well I don't mind ;)
