Im trying to space down the front hanger to get rid of some of angle on the spring. Wondering what everyone thought of two plates of 10mm shooting down from the chassis to form new hanger. I think it would work well.
Im doing a soa at the moment so i have steering knuckles and perches free to move.

Pretty sure mine is similar, BUT, between the chassis and the spring mount is a piece of steel box section, it's welded to the chassis, and the spring mount is welded underneath this, steel plates like you're talking of run over the sides to strengthen everything.

What brand and type of vehicle have you got ? If its a Landcruiser you should drill a bleed hole in the front prop shaft slip joint because the axle will want to move rearwards when you hit a bump. The toyota slip joints hydraulically lock with the grease inside, this pushes against your transfercase and may crack it in time.
You should also expect reduced offroad ability due to front axle tramp.
It will be similar to an old leaf sprung LandRover.

na, its a different mount at the rear and yea it is reinforced, doesn't have to be overly beefed up tho as it sits right on the chassis rail, just some bracing either side.

Sorry mate couldn't get a piccy, but had a close look at it next to my stock mk,
Firstly the front mounts are wider than the chassis so your idea wouldn't fit the springs in, unless u spaced it out which would make it weak.
How my front mounts are set up are:
50mm OD box section with capped ends, (the chassis is about 50mm wide)
This is simply welded onto the botton of the chassis rails, it is only as long as the front mount.
The mount itself is actually identical to the standard rear mount, it's just welded to the bottom of the box under the chassis rail, the only difference is that it doesn't have the plates on the side like the rear mount (i said it did before but stuffed up).
The rear mount is just thick walled tube sized to fit the bushes for the shackle and fit between the shackle, its welded to the chassis and is gusseted at the front.
Hope that helps a bit.
