bonnet vents

bonnet vents
has anyone used vents in the side of their bonnet and scuttle panel in an effort to reduce under bonnet temps and if so did it work?
looking for a subtle but effective vent that is easy (if the do anything...) to fit and doesnt require that I repaint the bonnet, any ideas/sources/pics?
Cheers
Daryl

Hey Daryl , i have marine ait vents , stainless steel and a Nissan Patrol air scoop fitted into the bonnet . The air vents were $15 each and made a noteable change , but the Nissan air scoop is unreal ! i now dont have to have the fan blowing on my feet at all , even at 40 degs its very good , and various ones in the club over here have noted a huge difference and are going to source one for theirs . I have pics of the marine vents and if you email your address i will send them thru , im pritty much a computer idiot and dunno how to attach to this forum , sorry !

Vents
I run two metal vents (Galvanized from hardware store) painted black on each side, one scutle, one bonnet. Looks crude but so does the rest of the car, combined with Falcon Thermos, does a good job of keeping the Chev Cool.
Looks like the vent supermarket - pity about the price of plastic these days...
Now if I was looking for the super cheap option where would I go?
A hot rod friend of mine said some of the boys who lust after louvres rob the back panel off old stoves - now that sounds more like me 8)
Any other cheapo options?

This was sent to me
I think they are XR6 bonnet vents
This is a fantastic forum for picking up great info on the RR's.
I just bought a 76 2 door with 4.4 Leyland 4 speed and have trouble keeping it cool. The vents are a great idea Also I am having the thermo fans re-mounted to the front of the radiator, hoping this will allow it to run cool.
How many of you guys run air con in the RR. I have it fitted but wondering if it's worth fixing or chucking.
Thanks in advance

This may sound a little weird, I just ripped of the duel exhaust system 2xmuff 2 hotdogs and fitted a single 2 1/2 system with 1 straight thru muff and the Rangie is running around 5 deg cooler on the HWY.
Must be a big difference in flow thru
May be worth looking at to keep temp down if your running duel system
