Recently purchased 2.8 intercooled TD, as I like to do all my own maintenance, (don't trust them dealers) thought it would be prudent to obtain shop manual. :D

First call to Nissan had me on the floor in shock, they were under the impression I had shares in Nissan or something, $399 for the FIRST volume only. Yeah right, thanks guys, very helpful. NOT.

Checked out Gregories, found their manual useless for my 2.8 as their manual only covers the Y60.

Checked out the Haynes and found that it's just a Gregories uner a different skin cover.

Things were gettin a bit tricky, then heard on these boards of availability of manuals on CD via ebay.
Weren't too impressed with that, as I'm one of those old fashioned types who likes to have his manual beside him resting on the mudguard for reference.
A CD manual would make this a little difficult, sure I could print out stacks of pages, but am I really saving anything here what with paper costs and ink/wear and tear on printer , crap and grease marks on PC keyboard ?

Then that Darlin wife of mine sez, "Why don't you try one of these large publishing houses?".
Righto, will try nearly anything at this stage, so we're advised to contact the PIT STOP BOOKSHOP in Perth, W.A. who advise us, they have a genuine NISSAN workshop manual vol 1 A and Vol 1 B for the price of $199.
Compared to Nissan's quote, this was a steal, raced in and picked em up lickety split.
Reading them that night, found they were INCOMPLETE, only covered HALF of what was needed, said nothing regards the electrics, gearbox, stearing, diffs ect, ect.
Rang em back next day, and they advise me there are ANOTHER THREE VOLUMES in the series that cover all the chapters I'm refering to, all three volumes together will set me back another $199.
So in I go, and pick up the books which were 6" thick and weighed a ton, if we're talkin value for paper weight, I reckon I got my money's worth.

In retrospect, Nissan sell the series for $700 so I got them for $400 a pretty fair price, specialy seeings as ONE service at Nissan's will set you back $800 or more.

Again, the source is PIT STOP BOOK SHOP, in KIngs street Perth CBD.

Hillybilly,

Try finding the electronic fuel pump and associated components in your Gregories manual.
