Tow Bars on Ferozas.

Tow Bars on Ferozas.
What have people got in the way of tow bars on their Ferozas?
I have seen some that are good and close to the bumpers that wont hinder departures, and some others that are very low riding and would get in the way.
If anyone has some pics it would be great...
Anyone got one for sale or swap or can think of a wrecker that might have one I would like to hear from you!
Croz.

On boooooost!!
I found some for sale once on one of the Aussie towbar manufacturer sites- can't remember what site though?
I've seen at least three different designs. Most just seem to bolt on where the rear recovery point goes; I saw one last weekend that bolted on there plus had a tube section that bolted on behind the bumper too somehow(?)
There appear to be different heights available for the recovery point only type.

hey croz.. i had one custom made for me... it seemed there was a factory style tongue stype hitch set up on mine when i bought it so i had it modified.. i dunno if it was a factory setup or if someone installed it after the purchase... but this is what i got now... works a real treat, stays out o the way and can remove the hitch when i need the departure angle.... jus gotta find the damn key for the lock... ;mutters;

I've got the Hayman Reese towbar on my feroza. It sits up out of the way so it dosen't affect the departure angle
Heres a couple of pics. There not very close but gives u an idea of what the hayman reese towbar looks like

Has anyone got a close up pic of the Hayman Reese style towbars?
At the moment i have one that bolts on the back. I would like to a Hayman Reese type one so that i will have a decent recovery point on the back, but i want a closeup look at em first.
Soooo........ anyone got pics?

Did you have a look at my pics. There not a close up but I can get some close ups in a week or so
As for a recovery point, I unbolt the towball and put a rated D/bow shackle through the hole

Clint do you mean a receiver type with the square tube section that the tongue assembly slides into (with a locking pin holding it in place)?
Yes, thats those.

I had a look at ya pics but i would like a closer look to see how they are attached. Do they just bolt onto where the loop was with 4 bolts, or do they attach to the chassis some how?
I have unbolted the towball in the past also, but i would like something more substantial (spelling?).
Some closer photos would b great.

Clint I think you'll find just about all of the commercial towbars available are just a bolt on tongue arrangement- not the receiver type. I had mine modified to be a receiver type for more rear clearance (plus it's more useful for recoveries) but supposedly all towbars now require ADR certification and should have certification plaques attached (?)
Here's an old thread containing before and after pics of mine:

Regarding the "unknown" towbars.
I have a big flat tounge on mine. It comes out of a round tube mounted under the bumper.
Has pros and cons though.
Don't know what brand it is.
If you have it out for towing it quite effectively removes ur kneecaps. However, with only a loosen of the bolts underneath (remove one and spin the tounge around 180 degrees, remove towball first, or flip tounge upside down) you can leave it attached if you want, but this makes good for ground clearance without having to remove ur bar and leave it at camp. When it comes to anchor points for snatches, I was going to get an aftermarket bolt on assembly.
If anyone has anything else to add, please let us know.
