1. the best way to protect something is to not have it 'there' in the first place................ so in this instance, rather than trying to protect those flares which stick out attracting rocks, I'd be removing them, and either trimming the gaurds (see attached pic 1)

2. living with the carnage that is destined, and when destroyed, replace the entire front clip with a tube job similar to the aztec

3. since the plumbers rack really isn't the most discrete or 'slick' looking item (let's be realistic), just add a curved bar which follows the shape of the arch mounting at the sill at the a pillar. Reason being that when the front bar hits a rock (a reaalllllly big one) it will want to deform and push back. If it's a straight link to the bend near the rear of the bonnet, it will push the unsupported 'rack' back into the body. Hence, if the link is curved, and mounted as described, there is less chance of 'structural' damage.

Personally, I wouldn't bother doing anything in this area other than replace the flares with rubber, as to be realistic, if your going to be doing some 'hardcore' wheeling, it's destined to be damaged. Nature of the beast.

All the best for the weekend, wish I was there to support you guy's on.

Yeah put a tube front on it for comps.

hey look (idea bubble) I have one that I don't want!
sell for cheap or swap front clip.
pics below.

the tube bit that holds the bonnet up and the winch bar. they are seperate items but both not needed.

ashley ;)

Sam perfect opportunity to develop a tube front that you can mount a front clip to for daily driving and take off for 4wheeling

But wouldn't you trailer it to the comp, I mean their is a very high chance you will break it!

Did you ever get pulled up for the one on bazook?

The reason i built this rig is so I could drive it wheel it then drive home. If I wanted to trailer it then I would just build a buggy.

I never got pulled over in Bazzoc but I never drove it anywhere either.
