low range

Post by maty »

change you diff ratios, this changes the final drive of the vehicle, i think you have 4.11 (?), go up a size or to to 4.56 etc - some help from someone about what ratios he is running now?

low range reduction only lowers low range, doesn't affect the high range whatsoever.

I run Marks Low Range Transfer Gears in my 75 Series Cruiser.
The gears I have are an 8% under drive in high range and 68% reduction in low range.
Check out http://www.marks4wd.com/lc-extra-low-tc-gears.htm if your interested.

I run 35's and it has improved high range performance, returning it almost to standard.

Cant get crawler gears for 80 series transfers, the case is too narrow, and no1 makes them. Marks make the Cruiser Crawler box, but whether this is finished R & D yet, i dont know. Expect to pay $3500 for the box, which requires a 2" bodylift to fit it from memory

the last that I heard was the cruiser crawler box was ready to go & can be fitted without a body lift but the tunnel needs to be modified :)
