New AU Radiator and Thermos

Post by Hybrid »

Picked up my new radiator and fans today. Got a couple of questions for the officianados.

1. There are 2 main outlets on the radiator, one top, one bottom that I guess are the inlet and outlet for the engine. Then halfway down one side there is a slightly smaller pipe. Is this for filling/overflow?

2. The two small threaded inlets. Is this a built in power steering cooler?

3. Do the thermos mount to the radiator directly? Im struggling to see how unless there are spacers between it and the thermos.

Cheers

Automatic transmission cooler more likely.

You should have got 2 small nuts and bolts. The fan slides in at the bottom and then bolts in at the top. No spacers. You will need to find a bung for the bottom at a wreckers or buy one from ford. The outlet half way up goes to an expansion tank that you need to get. A camira one is compact but you need to make an adapter for the hose as they are a different size. There is a small outlet up top that also goes to the expansion tank. The alloy screw in fittings are for a transmision cooler but you can run the powersteer through it if you like.

Can someone tell me what are the dimensions for the thermo fan setup?
Height, width and depth of the assembly?
Thanks
Paul.

Thanks Tony. I went to the Panel House you recommeded. Good mob there, very helpful. $380 aint bad, you got mates rates. ;)

Now I've just gotta work out how im gonna fit it in. I just went on the old "If it doesnt fit I'll make it" but the steering box is looking a bit menacing. I'm hoping I dont have to rear mount it. :?

Aus I'll measure it up tomorrow. So are you talking about the fans and radiator assembled or just the fans. The radiator is very slim. My guess for the fan is about 4 inches deep. I'll put up some full dimensions tomorrow if I get a chance. I'm going over to help BeeBee with his POS tomorrow arvo before heading down to PUOSU.
