I have bought 40mm OD alluminum pipe as it is same size as in line water pump and most of my radiator and engine out let sizes .
where would i buy rubber hoses etc to try and join it all up or do i just go and sort radiator hoses from different cars ( FUN )

If you can not get there in a 4wd its not worth looking at
you might also want to consider an electric water pump in series with your engine water pump, the stocker pump on most engines will struggle to circulate the coolant through that length of hose effectively.
get your aluminimum pipes in place first then try to find raditor hoses with ebds that more or less suit the joins.
also it might be a good idea to install coil inside the hoses on the suction side, to prevent them collapsing.

trying to get alloy bent today if successful that will mean 5 radiator hoses and the joins where the pump is going if carn't bend it will mean an extra 4 radiator hoses

Dudes who use dot run demo derby cars were doing the same thing to win the things!!! 4 pipes... through the chassis rails!!!
There was an awesome steup 75 at TTC 2002 witha setup running 4 hoses and a water pump on return.
Have a chat to Darren at FTG auto salvage about running Xr8 thermo's as well. Good luck!

We run the radiators in the rear of our tube Buggies. We use 41mm aluminised exhast tube because it fits in our bender and it bends easy. For joiners we use radiator hoses.EF falcon ones work well as they have a couple of 90* bends in each. We also use those flexible aftermarket hoses. These work well to.
We also use AU falcon V8 radiators and twin thermos. They are easy to mount and are light. We only run the stock water pumps and have had no problems with cooling so far.

Thanks for the tip on the Ef falcon hoses i have fitted an 80 serries radiator as they have a alloy core standard etc and to it i have fitted the ford fans you mention also have an inline elec pump i have had success in getting the pipe bent now just have to fit it thanks guys for the help

How much water have i added to the system when i have put in 6 meters of 40mm alloy pipe in .
I now have the water pump in and the pipe run from the engine round and back to fire wall from there to top of engine to go . Went in to Repco this morning and bought about 10 radiator hoses that might work and will return what i don't use .

pi r^2 = 12.566 cm^2
6metres of = 600 * 12.566 = 7539.6 cm^3
1000cm^3 = 1litre
so 7.5 litres!
by the time you include your bends and the pump you will probably have added 10 litres of water to the system
which would effectively more than double the standard water capacity?
should make cooling much better aswell.

I have spoken to the enginer through the whole build and he had no prob with it he said he would do it as a ute but a shorty 40 already saids its a ute on the rego pappers so no hassel at all . He is more cocerened with the seat belts and front bumper .It is always a good idear to talk to your enginer b4 starting though i always have .Good luck with it
