Yes, I think it was in the old issue. White, auto, formerly estate wagon.

It recently grew a commodore v6, and to keep the engineer happy with the incresed weight, they lopped the back off to lighten the car.

It also has hilux/liteace custom diffs now.

Not sure what transfer it is running, I am guessing hilux.

Actually I'm pretty sure they're Nissan diffs/drivetrain under Celia's Vit.

I thought they were Hilux. There is a write up somewhere on the final build. No time to find it though.

Yeah, you may be right on the diffs - but it has a Nissan xfer.

I think I read somewhere that they were GQ. Not certain though. Certainly it would now been one tough Vitara.

Yes and No. I have sold those 32" A/Ts to a mate. I will be keeping 29s for the road, because I do a lot of driving and tyres that big would sap too much power.

The plan is to fit 32s for offroad (now that I've seen that their fitment is possible). However before that happens, I'll be installing a rockhopper and an air locker to strengthen up the front diff. The Vit's low range is so high, and the front end so weak I'd end up breaking something pretty soon with that much traction. The plan is for Swampers :twisted: but they're damn expensive :?

All of this is kinda speculative. Much as I would like to do up the Vit, the cost of those mods could buy me a very capable Sierra, which would perform better offroad than my IFS Vit. It's a lot of money to spend for the sake of having something different... Plus if I had something cheap I'd drive it harder :twisted:

Buy a cheap vit, fit a rockhopper and drive it really hard.

If you kill it put the rokchopper in your good one :D and buy a sierra

Yeah... but I just paid $600 worth of rego on it after a sydney buyer didnt front

So that's $600 I need back. maybe I can cash in rego I dunno.....

Don't mind me - I'm all talk anyway :D Besides, I'm more inclined to get something without IFS. Vitara Rockhoppers are a f@#$ing ripoff too. I don't understand why they're so much more than the Sierra's, or Luxes for that matter.
