Legality will depend greatly on which state you're in Some are better than others

Dude coz your from WA and I’m bored I’ll try give you a correct answer. In WA anything other then stock is illegal! But it is possible to get permits for modifications. EG: changing a holden 15 inch rim to 17’s is a matter of filling out a application. But say you want to go coil overs then you will need to get a professional engineer to approve the design in accordance with the relevant Australian standards. Part of this standard will require you to do lane change test. This will involve zig zag’in through cones at 100km. Now it is well known that some cars don’t even pass this test in stock form. The test alone costs around $1000 because you have to hire a track etc etc. As for the cost of coil overs I think Sam @ Overkill charges $700 each. Then add the cost of links plus install…..Very expensive already and still haven’t upgraded the diffs and brakes for the bigger rubber which I would assume you will be getting to warrant the coil overs.
Now this post may sound negative but I think it would be a waste of money to put coil overs on a zook. But yes they will be legal!!!!!!
Antt I like your thinking with the fox air’s! I was think though what would happen if one blew out. I’m thinking if a shock blows out the car is still held up by the spring. If the fox blew out the car would drop and pull it out of your hands, might even roll. I don’t think anyone would be happy if this happen at 100 on the freeway. What do you reckon? Also would you run a sway bar like the American buggies do? If so what kind and where from?

I haven't read anywhere about one failing yet, but i spose it is possible, but if ya had proper bumpstops to keep the tire from grabbing the guard/firewall whatever if it did collapse, i think it'd be fine even if it did blow out.
I just like the fox's for ease of install, they're so simple to mount with 2 little tabs for each end. On rods buggy everything looks so simple cause its just a few links, and the fox shocks...nice and tidy. Though there is a bit of stuffing around with nitrogen and oil levels to get them setup initially.
I think ya'd have to run a sway bar for the road, especially with em on the front. I'm sure ya could adapt a standard swaybar to fit, or even get something like a Currie Anti-Rock swaybar ( http://homepage.mac.com/rv6a/antirock.html )....or do what beebee has done and make your own using a torsion bar
hey dewse i spoke to russell about this at great length, if a standard nissan navara 4x4 straight of the floor didnt pass the swere test, alot of people arnt gonna have a chance, and if u do pass its still not "legal", depending on the test guys attitude he might not even let ur vehicle on the road if u did pass, so all it means is u can drive on the road untill they work out what to do, and it will cost u alot more than that.
so with mine im not even goin to bother with legality at this stage, im just gonna build it.
