Got to work thismorning and noticed the smell of diesel when I got out of the lux. Later, someone came up to me and said I have something leaking under the car. I check it, a trail of diesel mixed in with the rain on the ground for about the length of the car. I pop the hood, and the fuel pump is wet with diesel all over it.......
I know im right.... be the fuel pump is stuffed isnt it.....
Just called up to get it overhauled....$1200... ouch...
I have also noticed it hard to start of a morning sometimes too. The battery is fine though.
A couple of people said it could be the just the oring at the top of the pump. Hopefully it is just that, it would be a lot cheaper!!
Im leaving for Birdsville, Simpson Desert etc in a couple of weeks and have to use up more of my beer money now!!! Any clues guys??

If at first you DO succeed, try not to look astonished!
the o-rings and simple things tend to cause the external leaks, you might just try tighening the hoses to it as well, and finding the exact place the fuel is coming from, (its the clean spot amoungst the dirt)
Bloody low sulphor fuel...shit, the reconditioners are sooooo busy with this type of work....1200 os if there is no other problems found....good luck

That´s only removing the regulator cover, replace the O-Ring and the cover gasket itself.
Not more than 1 hour of work for a skilled mechanic, and about 150 EUR max. I have read lots of threads on European bulletin boards where it was only this cover and the two sealings. No need to do any additional work on the pump.
But don´t try to do that yourself if u are not skilled in that. U cuold cause a lot of damage.
Have you realized some harder sound of the engines since sulphor fuel is sold? We have it since January, and its really f&ck for older engines. As a workaround, I add 1 litre of vegetable oil to 80 litres of diesel, and its running lots smoother. It has a bit influence on the ignition time, I think it even has a little more power when I add 1% of vegetable oil.
No worries about it, there are lots of mates in Germany (where diesel is more expensive than beer) running their diesels exclusively with vegetable oil. And it helps to keep old gaskets tight.
