Size Difference 36in Pede to 35in MTR

Post by jtraf »

I know the size is printed but what is the actual size difference between this two. I currently have 35in MTR's and am looking at some 36inx12.5x15 Centerpede tyres.

How much bigger are the Pede's to the MTR's. This amount of difference means I may have to sut to fit them.

These will be going onto a SWB MK Patrol at the end of the day.

cheers

I don't know about 35" MTRs, but the 285/75-16 MTRs (nominally 33") are narrower across the tread face than 31x10.5-15 Cooper S/Ts - which are close to 265/75-15. If this trend carries to the 35s you may find the 'pedes are wider across the tread face, which could create problems in addition to the nominal diameter increase.

Cheers,

Scott

i believe that a 35x11.5x15 centipede is 35.5" and a 36x12.5x15" centipede is 36.2" if that helps, dont know about the exact size of a 35 MTR

in relation to that picture.. wouldnt it look different on a hard ground.. eg theres the MTR on a SOFT ground with a load and comparing with another tyre beside it :?

Simex ET2 - taken from www.simex.com
36x12.5R15 (or R16) = 340mm (13.4") wide and 920mm (36.2") dia

cant help with the MT/R as the goodyear site is crap. Did have a tyre broucher which I think gave the measurements but It floated around the car for so long that it got turfed.

Edit-
Found some info on the MT/R from the US site (it is crap to navigate)
35X12.50R15 = 12.5" (section)width and 34.7" dia ($234US - so $320 aus aint to bad I guess)

40X13.50R17LT = 13.5" width and 39.8"dia $448us
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY....
