I personally prefer the GU ute, my neighbours got one that is pretty damm sweet, he runs 36" swampers on it and its pretty mean, funny watchin him spin 33's in a diesel on the black stuff.

Having an older GQ that you don't care about pannel damage would have to be a more fun trail machine. A GU would be unique though. as Turps said, just take the front diff (and maybe the steering box) and be done with it.

We get some SWB GU Patrols here in NZ.....but I've only seen one with the TD42 engine in it. It belongs to a guy that has a GQ race truck with a GU front end and steering box in it. I know he bought a LWB GU wreck a while ago and kept the front end for the GQ and sold the chassis to another mate. I wouldn't be at all suprised if he transplanted the TD42 from the LWB GU wreck into his SWB GU daily driver. Anyway, its an awesome tow wagon and is comfy to boot!

most are 3.0's, but the importer is talkin 4.2's.. If he is .01% smart enough to import them, I dont think he would touch the 3.0's with possible motor issues.

There is a URL, but its at home. AJ has it.

i don't have a problem with the 3 litre engine anyways. it is pretty common knowledge not to touch the earlier ones, the later ones are fine.

is he bringing in any petrol models?
